Certified Nursing Assistant

  • $1,300.00
    1 WEEK, 3 DAYS

Nursing assistant programs prepare individuals for challenging the nurse aide certification exam and for entry level positions in health care environments. Each state has the authority to decide how many hours of training a nursing assistant course must consist of, and in Arizona it is 120 hours minimum.

Program length, admission requirements, and cost of training vary depending on the policies of every training facility. Compared to other training programs in the health care field, nursing assistant classes are relatively short and inexpensive. Obtaining state certification as a CNA is the main requirement for securing a nurse aide job at a nursing home, hospital, rehabilitation or skilled nursing facility.

HOW MUCH DOES CNA TRAINING COST?

  • Classes will be starting soon, and anticipated length is 6 weeks (tentatively). Classes will initially be on the weekends with one weekday for clinicals (tentatively). This will mean 6-hour classes on Saturday and Sundays with a weekly 10-hour weekday clinical on site (this may change based on demand/facility). Cost for the program will be $1300 which will include current textbook, a pair of scrubs, a gait belt, a blood pressure cuff with stethoscope, and a TB test. Information on other associated costs will be provided prior to enrollment.
  • State Board Exam is $118.00 payable to AZTTI post graduation.

WHAT ARE THE CNA PROGRAM PREREQUISITES?

  • Cover a mandated CNA Admissions Test covering English proficiency, reading comprehension, and math necessary to comprehend the course materials and perform duties safely.
  • No active Felony (ARS 32-1606) in the past 3 years or Unprofessional Conduct (ARS 32-1601)
  • Proof of Citizenship (Arizona Driver’s License or Passport), or legal residency status.
  • Must complete the AZTTI Health Declaration. The Health Declaration is a health and safety document ensuring essential immunizations and clearance for participation by a licensed health care provider. Potential students must be able to meet all “essential functions”.
  • Complete the Voluntary Assumption of Risk – Release of Liability Form.
  • Ability to pass a TB test, or provide prior results no older than 6 months from testing. Provide current CPR certificate. TB Test/CPR are provided by AZTTI.
  • Advanced Placement students have additional pre-requisites identified on the Advanced Placement Information Sheet.

WHAT IS THE CNA COURSE COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS?

  • The CNA certification exam, also known as the nurse aide assessment examination, is the final test a nurse aide student must pass in order to become eligible for employment and for being listed on the Nurse Aide Registry of a state. The CNA certification exam is designed to evaluate the knowledge, skills and abilities required to safely perform the job of a nursing assistant. The evaluation consists of two main parts: a written or oral exam and a hands-on, skills examination. A nurse aide candidate who passes both the written and the skills evaluation qualifies for obtaining a state nurse aide certification and is eligible for any entry-level nurse aide position. In Arizona, candidates are required to score a minimum of 75% on the written exam which consists of 75 multiple choice questions, and 80% on the skills exam (without missing any key steps).
